Does it make any sense to save while in college?

Does it make any sense to save while in college? I come from a middle class family and have to pay for college via scholarships and loans. My parents spend all the money they get so I naturally am a saver. I find it very difficult to spend money. However, I'm in the top 5% at a top 20 school in civil engineering and will make at the very least 50k when I get out. Why the hell am I saving money? I'd be much better off spending money now than having an extra 20k when I graduate. I don't buy cereal when it's 50 cents more than what I want to pay, I don't buy books for some of my classes, I haven't had a good steak in close to a year. Help me to be less frugal. Does it make any sense to save while in college?
