YouTube: 'Tis the season to be frugal for many shoppers - Credit and Credit Cards
| YouTube: 'Tis the season to be frugal for many shoppers Holiday shopping is the latest victim of financial market madness. As sales drop and unemployment rises, some people are caught between penny-pinching and scuffling for extra money. "I think, all around, everybody's just holding tight. I know I am, " said consumer Shaun Robinson. "So I guess you have to cut some of the people that you normally would buy gifts for and just get gifts for close family." Another shopper, Anne Beemer said, "I'm trying not to put anything on my credit cards and I'm just looking to make sure I'm only buying what I need to buy as opposed to what I might want to buy." Meanwhile, others say no matter how hard the times, they will continue to spend as much this season as they always have. Asked whether he will be cutting back on the holidays, Gene Bebeau said, "No. Not with Christmas. I have nieces and nephews that would be horribly disappointed." Retailers must now wait and see if they will meet market expectations this holiday shopping season. |
| There is nothing wrong if you want to be frugal during holidays in giving gifts to some friends and family members. I think giving gifts is a way of remembering your loved ones during holidays. So, even just a simple thing to be given away will greatly be appreciated. Since I already anticipate some expenses for the holidays, I can manage to save up and buy some stuffs for my family using credit cards or cash. |
